The moment of extraction — what changes
The moment a follicle is extracted, its blood supply is severed. The graft transitions from a living vascularised tissue to an isolated biological unit that must survive on stored resources until it establishes new blood supply. This transition is the critical vulnerability in FUE surgery. Every minute outside the body, the graft experiences increasing metabolic stress: ATP depletion, waste product accumulation, and cellular stress from temperature change and dehydration.
