What Is a Beard Transplant?
A beard transplant starts with FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) — the same extraction method used for scalp hair transplant surgery. Individual follicular units are harvested from the donor zone (typically the back of the scalp), then implanted into the beard area either via standard FUE placement or with the DHI Choi pen, chosen case-by-case, at the precise angle, depth and direction required to create natural-looking density.
Before a single graft is extracted, Dr. Arslan hand-draws the new beard line on the patient's own skin, mapping density zones around the natural jaw and chin contour.
Beard FUE requires especially fine control over implantation angle. Beard hairs grow at very shallow angles (30–45°), significantly flatter than scalp hair.
