Choosing the Right Restoration Procedure
The right procedure depends on where the hair loss is and the texture of the hair involved, not on a fixed package. Male and female pattern loss on the scalp is treated with FUE, DHI or Algorithmic FUE™, selected after Dr. Arslan reviews your Norwood or Ludwig stage and donor density. A patchy or thinning beard is treated with the shallow-angle implantation used in beard transplant, matched to the coarser calibre and growth direction of facial hair. Sparse or over-plucked brows need the finer, angle-precise work described on the eyebrow transplant page. Diffuse female pattern thinning or traction alopecia is usually addressed with no-shave DHI, covered on the women's hair transplant page. How a Restoration Procedure Works
Every restoration procedure at Hairmedico — scalp, beard, eyebrow, women's or afro — follows the same core sequence, adapted to the area being treated. A pre-op consultation confirms the plan agreed during the photograph assessment, and for scalp and eyebrow cases the hairline or brow line is designed with Dr. Arslan in person. Local anaesthetic is applied using a needle-free delivery system to reduce injection discomfort. In the VIP package, Dr. Arslan then personally extracts each graft from the donor area — the back and sides of the scalp for hair procedures, or a designated donor zone for beard work — and personally opens every recipient channel, the step that fixes the angle, direction and density of the finished result; on Gold, he personally opens the channels while the clinic's medical team carries out extraction. Grafts are then placed into those channels: Dr. Arslan places every graft himself in the VIP tier, while in the Silver and Gold packages the clinic's medical team places them. A session typically runs 4–7 hours depending on graft count and the area treated. Patients leave the following day with written and video aftercare instructions and the LOREW Paris aftercare kit.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Hair Restoration?
Candidacy is assessed on the same core factors whichever area is being treated: the stage of loss measured against the Norwood or Ludwig scale, the density and quality of the donor area supplying the grafts, hair calibre, and the likely pattern of future loss — a hairline or brow design has to hold up for a decade or more, not just the first year. Donor hair for scalp, beard and eyebrow procedures is normally taken from the back and sides of the head, genetically resistant to the hormone that drives pattern loss, so its density is what governs how much can be transplanted safely across every procedure.
Patients with very early, diffuse thinning and no stable donor pattern yet are sometimes advised to start with non-surgical treatment — finasteride or minoxidil, or PRP — and revisit surgery once the pattern has stabilised. That call is made after photographs are reviewed, not used as a way to delay treatment.
Surgery is not the right next step for everyone at every point in time. Rapidly progressing loss where the donor area itself may still be thinning, donor density too limited to realistically cover the area requested, active scalp or skin conditions at the treatment site, and expectations that outpace what the available donor supply can deliver are the main reasons Dr. Arslan advises a patient to wait or reconsider scope. This is decided case by case from your photographs — never assumed from age or Norwood stage alone, and never a reason to push a procedure through regardless.
Recovery Timeline — What to Expect
The biology of healing is the same across scalp, beard, eyebrow, women's and afro procedures. The donor zone heals within 7–10 days. Redness and scabbing at the treated area resolve within 10–14 days, after which most patients return to office work. Transplanted hairs then shed at 2–4 weeks — expected, and not a sign the graft has failed, since the follicle stays in place beneath the skin. New growth starts at 3–4 months, roughly half of the final density is visible at 6 months, and full results are typically reached at 12–14 months. Unshaven FUE follows the identical biological timeline — the only difference is that there is no visible shave to grow out.
